Screen enclosures for Fort Myers pools, patios and porches.

From screened porches on older homes near McGregor Boulevard to pool cages in Gateway and along Daniels Parkway, our Fort Myers crew builds new enclosures and replaces worn-out ones.

Built by the crew that is based here

Our office is in Fort Myers, so the enclosures we build here are a short drive from home. That makes the first visit easy to arrange: we come out, measure the space, talk through what you want to use it for, and leave you with a written price.

Fort Myers has two very different kinds of enclosure work. The older neighborhoods near the river and along McGregor Boulevard are full of screened porches, entryways and lanais tucked under the house roof, many of them on homes that are decades old. Out east, in Gateway and the communities off Daniels Parkway, most homes have a builder-installed pool cage that went up with the house and is now reaching the age where the screen, the doors and sometimes the frame need replacing.

Both live with the same climate: wet-season storms most afternoons from June to October, humidity off the Caloosahatchee, and the occasional hurricane. We build for that, whether it is a new enclosure or a full replacement for your Fort Myers home.

Screened porches and lanais on older homes

On a lot of older Fort Myers houses the best outdoor space is already there: a covered porch or lanai under the main roof that only needs walls of screen to become a room. Because the house roof does the work, an under-roof enclosure is one of the most affordable ways to add usable space, and it leaves the look of a character home intact.

The catch on older homes is what the enclosure attaches to. Beams, posts and fascia that have been in the humidity for fifty years can be softer than they look, and screen framing needs something solid to fasten to. We check the structure first and handle any fascia repair or wood rot repair before the screen goes up, so the new enclosure is not hung on rot.

  • Front entryway enclosures with a self-closing door
  • Framing matched to older rooflines
  • Rotted fascia and posts repaired first

Replacing builder-grade pool cages

Pool cages put up during construction in the newer Fort Myers communities were often built to a budget, and after enough summers they show it: chalky screen, doors that drag, kick plates beaten in and fasteners going soft. Often the frame is still sound and a pool cage re-screen is the right answer. When the frame has corroded at the base or was damaged in a storm, we replace the enclosure as a whole.

Most of these neighborhoods have an association with rules on what an enclosure can look like. Bronze and white are the usual frame colors, and the roof style and height often have to match the original. We build to those rules, so bring them to the estimate and we will quote the enclosure to match.

City of Fort Myers or Lee County?

A Fort Myers mailing address does not always mean the City of Fort Myers. Homes inside city limits are permitted through the City of Fort Myers, while Gateway and much of the area people call Fort Myers sit in unincorporated Lee County and are permitted through the county. Either way, a new or replacement screen enclosure needs a building permit and engineered drawings that meet the Florida Building Code’s wind requirements.

It is worth knowing which applies to you before you collect quotes, and worth checking that each quote covers the permit and engineering. Leaving those out is the most common reason two prices for the same enclosure look far apart.

How it works

Porch, lanai or pool cage, the steps are the same.

A visit from our Fort Myers office

We come out from our Fort Myers base, check the posts, beams and fascia the enclosure will attach to, and measure.

City or county?

Check whether your address sits inside Fort Myers city limits or in unincorporated Lee County, since that decides who permits the work.

Good to know

Fort Myers screen enclosure questions.

It depends on where the house sits. Inside city limits it is the City of Fort Myers. In unincorporated areas with a Fort Myers address, including Gateway, it is Lee County. Whichever it is, a new or replacement enclosure needs a permit and engineered drawings.

Yes. An under-roof lanai or porch only needs screen walls and a door, which makes it one of the simplest enclosures to build. We check the posts, beams and fascia first, because on older homes they sometimes need repair before anything is fastened to them.

Yes. We build to the frame color, roof style and height your association allows. Bring its rules to the estimate and we will quote the enclosure to match them.

Bronze is a popular choice because it blends into landscaping and shows less dirt. White suits some lighter, coastal-style homes. If you live in an association, check its rules first, since many specify one or the other.

We are based in Fort Myers and typically respond within 24 hours. The estimate is free and the price is in writing before any work starts.

For most people, yes. A screened patio or lanai gives you an outdoor room you can use through the summer evenings without the mosquitoes, and it costs far less than an enclosed addition.

I called several local gutter companies, and WWJD Gutters was the only one to get back to me promptly — same day. They showed up at 8:30 AM and in three hours ripped off old gutters, installed new gutters all the way around the house, repaired soffit, and even removed a satellite dish. They cleaned up the workspace before leaving. I have absolutely no complaints.

I reached out to several companies and he was the first to actually come out and give me a quote when he said he would. Great fair price. Russell even took care of some minor soffit issues for me while doing the gutter estimate.

Thanks to the owner Russell and his crew for going the extra mile to find a gutter metal supplier to match my new standing-seam metal roof color. Great job and price — both my wife and myself are very satisfied. From the Isles of Capri, Naples FL.
