Sliding screen doors
When a slider gets hard to move, the mesh is almost never the problem. It is the rollers underneath, the track they run in, or both. Florida grit gets into the track, the wheels flat-spot, and every pass grinds the track a little further out of shape until the door has to be lifted to move at all.
We replace worn rollers with proper tandem wheels, clean and straighten the track where it can be saved, and adjust the height so the door rides level and latches without a shove. Where a track is chewed past rescue, a track cover restores a clean running surface without replacing the whole frame.
A door that is dragging is also a door that is pulling its own frame out of square, which is how a cheap roller job turns into a new door six months later. Worth catching early.

Swing and entry screen doors
Swing doors fail differently. The hinges sag, the corners rack out of square, the closer either slams the door or stops closing it at all, and the latch stops lining up with the strike. Each of those is a small part, and each of them makes the door annoying enough that people prop it open, which is how the bugs win.
We re-square corners, replace hinges and pivots, fit a closer with the right tension for the door weight, and align the latch and strike so it shuts on its own without being pulled. Kick plates that have been dented in by feet and pool gear get replaced at the same time.
Cage doors and garage screen doors get the same treatment. They are the same components under a different label.

When replacement is the honest answer
Sometimes the frame has had it. Aluminum that has corroded at the corners will not hold a fastener again, and a door that has been out of square long enough takes a set you cannot adjust out. Putting fifty dollars of parts into that door buys you a few months.
When that is the situation we will tell you plainly, quote a replacement door built to the opening, and fit it with new hardware and fresh mesh. It is usually the cheaper path over any horizon longer than a season, and you get a door that closes by itself again.
Either way you get the choice, in writing, before anything happens. No deposit, and nothing due until the work is done and you are satisfied.

Most of the time the door is not the only thing on the list. If we are already on site re-screening the lanai or the pool cage, adding the door to the same visit costs you far less than calling someone out for the door alone, because the trip and setup are already paid for.
The reverse is also true. If you called us about a sticking slider and we notice the mesh next to it is brittle and going, we will point it out and price it, and you can decide. We are not going to quietly re-screen a panel you did not ask about.
