Your local gutter crew in Marco Island

Marco Island is a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico, and homes here live with salt air every day of the year. Many sit on canals with the water a few steps from the lanai. Any gutters on Marco Island have to collect heavy Gulf rain off the roof and send it somewhere useful, without leaking at the corners or pulling loose in the wind.

Our crew comes over the Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge on SR 951 to install, repair and screen across the island. WWJD Gutters is a family-owned company that has worked in Southwest Florida since 2007, and owner Russell Uhlig's crew is licensed and insured to $2 million.

We typically respond within 24 hours. The estimate is free, there's no deposit, and we beat any competitor's written quote on the same scope.

Seamless gutters and downspout installed on a Southwest Florida home

Seamless gutter installation on Marco Island

We form every trough on site, cut to the length of each wall, so a long run along a canal-side home has no joints in the middle. Our seamless gutter installation on Marco Island uses heavy-duty 6-inch troughs and 3×4-inch downspouts, sized to move far more water than a 5-inch system.

Most installs are done in a single day. The old gutters come down and leave with us at no extra charge, and you choose from a wide range of baked-on colors to match the trim.

Gutter screens for Marco Island homes

Island landscaping drops leaves and fronds into gutters, and a clogged trough overflows straight onto the walkway or lanai. We fit gutter screens and guards on Marco Island as a mesh cover made for our 6-inch troughs.

Screens keep the larger debris out, but they still want a rinse now and then so fine grit doesn't sit on the mesh. If your roof has nothing much hanging over it, we may suggest skipping guards and just keeping the gutters clean.

Screen enclosures built for Marco Island storms

Hurricane Irma made landfall on Marco Island in September 2017, and an enclosure that has been through a storm like that may have a frame that is no longer sound. We build screen enclosures on Marco Island new, or replace an old one frame and all.

New enclosures are engineered to Florida Building Code wind-load rules. We take care of the permit with the City of Marco Island, so you are not left sorting out paperwork on your own.

Pool cage re-screening for Marco Island waterfront homes

On a canal home, the pool cage is often the room you use most. When the frame is still solid but the mesh is torn, faded or sagging, our pool cage re-screening on Marco Island replaces the screen without replacing the structure.

We can line the visit up with gutter work on the same roof, so the water coming off the house lands outside the cage instead of pouring along its edge.

Gutter repair against Marco Island salt air

Constant salt air and Gulf storms wear on every part of an exterior, and gutters show it at the seams, the corners and the hangers. Our gutter repair on Marco Island covers sagging runs, leaking seams and corners, clogged downspouts and storm damage.

When we re-hang a run, we use heavy-duty hangers with reinforced fastening for Florida wind. If a system is too far gone to patch, we'll tell you plainly and quote a replacement instead.

Downspouts for Marco Island canal lots

A gutter is only half the job if the downspout empties against the foundation. We place downspouts on Marco Island homes to carry water away from the foundation, the pool deck and the landscaping.

Canal lots leave less yard to work with, so each downspout location is planned around where the runoff can go. Back on the mainland, we do the same for homeowners in Naples and up the coast in Estero.

Good to know

Gutter questions from Marco Island homeowners.

Without gutters, rain pours off the roof edge and lands against the foundation, the walls and the pool deck, and it can wash out landscaping. Gutters with well-placed downspouts collect that water and move it to where it can drain away from the house.

Yes. If the frame is still sound we can re-screen it, and if it is bent or failing we replace the enclosure frame and all. New enclosures are engineered to Florida Building Code wind-load rules, and we handle the permit with the City of Marco Island.

The ones we work on most are pool cages, screened lanais and screened entries. A pool cage covers the pool and deck, a lanai enclosure screens a covered patio against the house, and an entry screen closes in the front door area. We build new, replace, or re-screen existing frames.

It depends on what hangs over your roof. A home with trees or palms close to the eaves may need cleaning more than once a year, while a house with open sky above it needs much less. Heading into the summer storm season is a sensible time for a check either way.

Screens block leaves and larger debris, but fine grit can collect on top of the mesh and needs an occasional rinse. They also add to the cost, so we only recommend them where there is enough debris to justify it.

Seamless gutters leak less because there are fewer joints. The trade-off is that a badly damaged run usually can't be patched by swapping one short piece, so that run is formed again on site. Smaller problems like a loose hanger or a leaking corner are routine repairs.

I called several local gutter companies, and WWJD Gutters was the only one to get back to me promptly — same day. They showed up at 8:30 AM and in three hours ripped off old gutters, installed new gutters all the way around the house, repaired soffit, and even removed a satellite dish. They cleaned up the workspace before leaving. I have absolutely no complaints.

I reached out to several companies and he was the first to actually come out and give me a quote when he said he would. Great fair price. Russell even took care of some minor soffit issues for me while doing the gutter estimate.

Thanks to the owner Russell and his crew for going the extra mile to find a gutter metal supplier to match my new standing-seam metal roof color. Great job and price — both my wife and myself are very satisfied. From the Isles of Capri, Naples FL.
