Storm damage repair, assessed honestly.

After a bad blow the damage is rarely one thing. We assess the whole exterior, put it in writing, and start with whatever is letting water in.

Triage before repair

A storm leaves a list, not a job. Gutter runs pulled loose at one end, screen panels gone, a soffit panel out, siding lifted along a course, a carport with anchors that have worked in their sockets. Some of that is urgent, some of it can wait for the right week, and some of it only looks bad.

The first thing we do is sort it into those three groups. Anything letting water into the building comes first, always. Structural damage that could fail further in the next weather comes second. Cosmetic damage waits, and we will tell you it can wait, because a contractor who tells you everything is urgent after a storm is telling you something about themselves.

You get that assessment written down, so you can act on it in your own order and at your own pace.

  • Water intrusion handled first
  • Structural risk second
  • Cosmetic items identified as cosmetic
  • Written so you can prioritise for yourself

Everything in one scope

The frustrating part of storm recovery is usually not the repairs, it is the coordination. Four contractors, four lead times, four site visits, and each one pointing at another one's scope for the bit in the middle.

Gutters, screen enclosures, soffit, fascia, siding and carports are all things we handle, which means most residential storm lists can be one scope with one crew. Where something falls outside what we do, most often roofing, we say so immediately and clearly rather than taking the job and improvising.

After a major event lead times get long for everyone, and we would rather give you an honest date than a comfortable one you will be chasing.

Documentation that is actually useful

If you are making an insurance claim, what tends to hold things up is a scope that mixes damage with wish-list items, or one too vague to price. We write ours to separate structural from cosmetic, describe what failed and how, and price the repair line by line.

We are a contractor, not a public adjuster, and we will not tell you what your policy covers or advise you on claim strategy. What we can do is describe the damage accurately and stand behind the pricing, which is the part an adjuster or an HOA board is actually asking us for.

For HOA and multi-family properties we can scope building by building so a board can approve in stages.

  • Structural and cosmetic damage separated
  • Line-by-line pricing an adjuster can work with
  • Building-by-building scoping for HOA approval
  • No claim advice, just accurate description
Pre-season exterior inspection on a Florida home

Before the next season

Most of what fails in a storm was already loose. Fasteners backed out along a run, an anchor that had worked slightly in its socket, a gutter hanger that had lost its bite in soft fascia, a screen panel with a lifted edge. Wind finds those and turns them into a claim.

A pre-season walk of the exterior is cheap and unglamorous and it is the single best value in this whole trade. Tightening what is loose in May costs a fraction of replacing what left in September.

Good to know

Storm Damage Repair questions.

Deal with anything letting water into the building, and photograph everything before repairs start. Beyond that, get a written assessment that separates what is urgent from what is cosmetic so you are not making decisions under pressure.

We provide a written scope separating structural from cosmetic damage with line-by-line pricing, which is what adjusters and HOA boards generally need. We are a contractor rather than a public adjuster, so we describe and price the damage but do not advise on coverage or claim strategy.

Gutters, screen enclosures, soffit, fascia, siding and carports are all in scope for us, which covers most residential storm lists in one visit. Roofing is not, and if the damage has reached the roof structure or decking we will tell you straight away.

We respond as fast as we can and prioritise water intrusion. After a major event lead times stretch for every contractor in the region, and we would rather give you an honest date than a comfortable one you end up chasing.

Yes. Carports and enclosures usually fail at anchors and fasteners rather than in the visible aluminum, so a structure can look untouched and still have movement at the connections. That is exactly what gives way in the next storm.

Yes, and it is the best-value work we do. Most storm failures start as something already loose, so tightening fasteners and re-securing runs before the season costs a fraction of replacing what the wind takes.
